Description

You will lead the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of enterprise messaging and event-streaming platforms.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end reliability for Kafka and RabbitMQ platforms, including uptime, capacity planning, and fault tolerance.
• Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for Kafka and RabbitMQ outages.
• Operate and maintain Confluent Kafka clusters and RabbitMQ environments in production.
• Develop and standardize runbooks for cluster lifecycle management, broker failures, and disaster recovery.
• Serve as the senior escalation point for all messaging platform issues.

Required Skills

• 8+ years in SRE, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Operations.
• 3+ years operating Confluent Kafka in production at scale.
• 2+ years operating RabbitMQ in distributed, high-availability environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services supporting messaging workloads (MSK, EC2, EBS, ALB/NLB, IAM).
• Deep understanding of Kafka internals (brokers, partitions, ISR, replication, rebalancing).
• Strong operational knowledge of RabbitMQ internals (clustering, quorum queues, mirroring, flow control).
• Expertise with Kubernetes (EKS) for platform workloads and microservices.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and Helm.
• Advanced experience with monitoring platforms such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency with Python and Bash scripting.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and incident management skills.
