Description

You own database administration and support for MS SQL Server environments.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform installation, configuration, backup, recovery, security, patching, upgrades, and migrations.
• Resolve moderate to complex (P1 and P2) incidents and problems within defined timelines.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term service improvements.
• Design and implement medium to complex project components and change requests.
• Provide 24x7 production support and handle escalations as required.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience in Database Administration.
• Expertise in MS SQL Server 2014 through 2022.
• Strong knowledge of high availability solutions: Log Shipping, Mirroring, Replication, AlwaysOn Availability Groups, and Failover Clustering.
• Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and index management.
• Experience with database security, access control, encryption, and auditing.
• Proficiency in automation and scripting using PowerShell and SQL Agent jobs.
• Experience working with cloud environments, specifically Azure and AWS.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as DataDog and New Relic.
• Good knowledge of Windows OS and related system commands.
