Description

You will own the architecture, administration, and performance of Confluent Kafka clusters across development, testing, and production environments.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Manage Confluent Kafka cluster environments, including installation, configuration, and performance testing of new features.
• Collaborate with application developers on POCs to design solutions using advanced product features.
• Monitor application performance to identify bottlenecks and implement fixes for high availability.
• Design and maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Architect the roadmap for messaging systems and plan cluster expansions and cloud integrations.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of Confluent Kafka administration and development experience.
• Proficiency in Python and Java.
• Experience with REST APIs.
• Knowledge of GIT and CI/CD workflows.
• Experience providing 3rd level support and liaising with vendors for problem resolution.
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related subject.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with automation tools like Ansible or Azure DevOps.
• General Unix support skills, including bash and service management.
• Experience with Docker, PCF, or other container platforms.
