Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lead the architecture, design, implementation, and lifecycle management of enterprise middleware platforms.
• Manage technologies including Red Hat JBoss EAP, IBM MQ (WMQ), OpenShift, and related middleware and integration technologies.
• Define and maintain middleware reference architectures, standards, and technology roadmaps.
• Design secure, scalable, resilient, and high-performing middleware solutions.
• Support modernization initiatives including containerization, cloud adoption, platform automation, and infrastructure transformation.
• Drive SRE practices focused on reliability, observability, availability, and service resiliency.
• Define and monitor SLIs, SLOs, and operational health metrics.
• Establish proactive monitoring, alerting, event correlation, and performance analytics.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and remediation of recurring incidents and operational risks.
• Implement automation and self-healing capabilities to improve system reliability.
• Manage middleware operations across Development, UAT, DR, and Production environments.
• Oversee deployments, upgrades, migrations, capacity expansion, and platform refresh activities.
• Lead incident, problem, and change management activities in accordance with ITIL standards.
• Partner with application, infrastructure, network, database, and security teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Lead performance tuning, optimization, and capacity management activities.
• Ensure middleware platforms comply with MUFG Cyber Security Standards, Technology Controls, and Regulatory Requirements.
• Support vulnerability management, penetration testing, security assessments, audits, and regulatory reviews.
• Drive disaster recovery, failover testing, and cyber-resilience initiatives.
• Promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
• Develop automation using Shell Scripting, Python, Ansible, and OpenShift Automation.
• Lead middleware-related initiatives and strategic projects across APAC.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, application owners, project managers, and business stakeholders.
• Prepare management reports, platform health dashboards, risk updates, and performance metrics.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to junior engineers.
• Act as an escalation point for complex technical, operational, and project-related matters.

Skills Required:

• 10+ years of experience in Middleware Engineering / Architecture
• Strong experience with JBoss / Red Hat JBoss EAP
• Extensive experience with WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
• Strong experience with IBM MQ / Message Queuing technologies
• Experience with ActiveMQ / RabbitMQ or similar platforms
• Strong knowledge of Middleware Architecture and Enterprise Architecture
• Hands-on experience in middleware installation, configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting
• Strong knowledge of SSL/TLS, encryption, authentication, and authorization
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
• Good understanding of networking concepts
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with scripting using Shell and Python
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to architect and design middleware solutions.

Good to Have:

• Experience with AWS / Azure
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
• Experience with Ansible
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with SRE, observability, and platform automation
• Knowledge of ITIL-based service management
• Experience in banking or financial services environments

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
