Description

You will manage and scale large-scale production MySQL database systems and cloud-based infrastructure.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable on-prem and GCP-based database systems.
• Develop automation solutions using Terraform, Ansible, and Python for database provisioning.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance to proactively address bottlenecks.
• Establish and enforce backup, recovery, and disaster recovery protocols.
• Lead incident resolution, perform root cause analysis, and manage changes via Jira.

Required Skills

• 8+ years managing large-scale production database systems handling terabytes of data.
• Expertise in MySQL administration and replication.
• Strong background in GCP or AWS database deployments.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible.
• Skilled in Python and Bash scripting for automation.
• Hands-on experience with Liquibase or Flyway for database automation.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools including Prometheus, Grafana, PMM, and ELK stack.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Elasticsearch, Kafka, Hadoop, or Vertica.
• Relevant AWS or GCP certifications.
