Description

You will lead critical mainframe modernization initiatives using Natural and COBOL, owning the full development lifecycle from requirements to UAT.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze business requirements to develop software specifications and technical solutions.
• Design and manage DB2 table structures and integrations for mainframe applications.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize applications using Natural and COBOL.
• Create, execute, and coordinate test plans, complex test scenarios, and UAT processes.
• Document functional and technical requirements using RTM, SDD, SRS, User Stories, and Use Cases.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of experience in software development.
• Expertise in Natural and COBOL development on mainframe environments.
• Proficiency in SQL and DB2 for data validation and structure management.
• Experience following established SDLC methodologies and project documentation standards.
• Proven track record delivering mainframe modernization or Unemployment Insurance (UI) systems projects.
• Experience working within state labor or workforce agencies.
• Familiarity with UAT processes and defect resolution.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Java-based systems and mainframe integration.
• Experience with TWC Unemployment Insurance Systems or equivalent state workforce systems.
