Description

Own the engineering, automation, and reliability of broadband CPE provisioning and device management platforms at scale.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and support provisioning architectures for DOCSIS, GPON, and FTTH access technologies.
• Implement automation for firmware management, service profiles, and device configuration workflows using Python, Bash, and Ansible.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues using packet captures (Wireshark, tcpdump), logs, and platform telemetry.
• Maintain observability dashboards, alerts, and KPIs to ensure platform reliability and reduce operational toil.
• Collaborate across OSS/BSS, NOC, and vendor teams to resolve cross-functional technical investigations.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in service provider provisioning, device management, or network automation.
• Deep working knowledge of DHCP, TFTP, DNS, NTP/ToD, SNMP, RADIUS, and REST APIs.
• Proficiency with TR-069 (CWMP), TR-181, and USP (TR-369) protocols.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, and SQL.
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Linux systems and troubleshooting network services.
• Understanding of OSS/BSS integration, service activation, and order-driven provisioning.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SRE principles including SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, and automated remediation.
• Familiarity with observability platforms like Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or Datadog.
• Knowledge of specific ACS platforms (e.g., Nokia Motive, Axiros, Friendly ACS) or vendor ecosystems.
