Description

You will design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructure for the Bulk Electric System of New England.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage network infrastructure using Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, Firepower, and ASA technologies.
• Configure and maintain Palo Alto security systems, including Panorama, App-ID, User-ID, and SSL decryption.
• Implement and troubleshoot VPN solutions for secure remote access and site-to-site connectivity.
• Ensure strict compliance with NERC CIP standards through access control policies and intrusion prevention.
• Manage patching, software upgrades, and support for DWDM appliances such as Cisco NCS.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of network engineering experience focusing on Cisco and Palo Alto technologies.
• Expertise in Cisco routing and switching protocols, specifically OSPF and BGP.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches, and Cisco ASA and Firepower routers.
• Proficiency in Palo Alto security management via Panorama.
• Experience with high availability configurations including HSRP.
• Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies, such as Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela), or DMVPN.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring protocols like SNMP.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Skills

• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, PCNSE, or CCNA.
• Experience with Gigamon tools or Ansible for network automation.
• Knowledge of SCADA telemetry transport protocols including DNP3, ICCP, Synchrophasor, and STTP.
