We are looking for a Node.js Team Lead to support and enhance our backend systems running on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). In this role, you will focus on maintaining service reliability, troubleshooting complex production issues, optimizing system performance, and implementing incremental improvements to an existing codebase. You will collaborate closely with distributed engineering teams and contribute to the stability and scalability of business-critical backend services.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Maintain, optimize, and enhance Node.js backend services built with NestJS and running on GCP 
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
• Improve service reliability, monitoring, and observability
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams on ongoing platform improvements
• Implement targeted backend enhancements and bug fixes
• Support CI/CD automation and operational excellence initiatives
• Contribute to backend architecture and development standards using Node.js and NestJS.

Job Requirements

• 4+ years of backend development experience with Node.js
• Strong hands-on experience with NestJS and its core concepts, including modules, controllers, providers, dependency injection, and middleware 
• Strong experience with GCP services (Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Firestore, Compute Engine)
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and tools such as Google Cloud Monitoring, Stackdriver, or similar
• Solid knowledge and understanding of CI/CD workflows and automation scripting
• Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills
• Ability to think holistically, maintain a broad perspective, anticipate potential challenges, and proactively develop solutions
• Experience working with mature/existing codebases
• Knowledge of backend scalability and performance optimization
• Proven ability to work autonomously, take ownership of tasks, and deliver results
• Strong communication and organizational skills
