Description

Lead database architecture and operations for enterprise systems.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and document database solutions to ensure performance, scalability, and high availability.
• Define best practices and use case documentation for database technologies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database performance issues across environments.
• Support automation of database maintenance processes and manage vendor relationships.

Required Skills

• Minimum 7 years of experience as a Database Administrator in a lead technical role.
• Expertise in Oracle Database architecture and optimization.
• Hands-on experience with at least two other database technologies: Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL, Snowflake, or MongoDB.
• Strong knowledge of backup and recovery strategies and high availability implementations.
• Experience developing automated maintenance processes in Windows Server or Unix environments.
• Familiarity with cloud-based database technologies and ETL/ELT processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience defining database architecture strategies and roadmaps, including build vs. buy decisions.
• Strong mentoring and leadership experience with the ability to work independently across multiple teams.
