Description

You will diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks across production and test environments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and debug Java/J2EE or C++ code to identify root causes of latency and errors.
• Optimize application servers, web servers, and relational databases for throughput and stability.
• Perform heap and thread dump analysis to resolve memory leaks and concurrency issues.
• Write ad-hoc SQL queries for data retrieval and database performance tuning.
• Communicate technical strategy, risks, and resolution plans to leadership.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of performance testing or engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Java/J2EE or C++ programming and debugging.
• Deep knowledge of SOAP and REST implementations within SOA architectures.
• Strong Unix command line skills on AIX, LINUX, or HPUX for OS-level diagnosis.
• Experience with MSSQL, DB2, or Oracle, including query optimization.
• Expertise in SQL and writing ad-hoc queries.
• Hands-on experience with SPLUNK for log analysis.
• Proficiency with tools like CA Introscope/Wily, HP Performance Center/LoadRunner, or Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Experience using OS tools such as NMON, IOSTAT, VMSTAT, NETSTAT, and TOP.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes).
• Ability to use Fiddler, Wireshark, and heap/thread dump analyzers.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
