Lead end-to-end performance engineering activities across the software development lifecycle.
Diagnose and remediate performance bottlenecks in high-volume transactional systems using both predictive and real-time approaches for application, middleware (JVM GC), database, infrastructure, and cloud components.
Design and execute workload modeling, capacity planning, and scalability assessments. Implement performance monitoring, observability, and proactive alerting strategies.
Partner with development teams to optimize Java and Spring Boot applications to validate application readiness through load, stress, endurance, and resiliency testing.
Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives with performance-focused architecture reviews.
Establish performance engineering standards, best practices, and governance processes and mentor project teams in performance optimization techniques and performance-aware design.
Required Technical Skills
Performance Engineering
8+ years of experience in performance engineering, performance testing, and production diagnostics with understanding of extreme-volume transaction systems (20K+ TPS).
Expertise in performance analysis, tuning, troubleshooting, and capacity planning and their related products such as Grafana, Dynatrace, LoadRunner, Selenium, Oracle AWS
Java & Application Performance
Strong Java development background for very high transaction volume systems. Knowledge of various frameworks (Spring Boot, etc.), Microservices, JVM/Garbage Collection, and Heap Dumps.
Experience optimizing application response times, throughput, and resource consumption.
AWS Cloud
Hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying enterprise applications on AWS with emphasis on Auto-scaling, S3, EC2, CloudWatch, data protection at high volume levels, 7x24 architectures, etc.
Understanding of cloud-native scalability and resiliency patterns
DevOps & Automation
Experience with CI/CD pipelines including supporting tools such as Maven, Docker, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting financial services, telecommunications, healthcare, transportation, or other high-transaction environments.
Knowledge of distributed system architecture and middleware such as Kafka.
Experience with cloud observability and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Developer certification, and PE Testing preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
