Description
Lead the design and delivery of plumbing and fire protection systems for domestic, commercial, and international projects.
Responsibilities
- Produce coordinated detailed design specifications and prepare technical specifications for concept and preliminary engineering solutions.
- Design sanitary, waste, vent, rainwater drainage, and domestic hot/cold/return water systems.
- Engineer standpipes and sprinkler systems while ensuring coordination across all building services disciplines.
- Manage workloads for Project Discipline Engineers and Technicians, including quality verification.
- Communicate directly with clients, conduct site surveys, and monitor the financial performance of assigned jobs.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of plumbing and fire protection engineering experience.
- Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant engineering field.
- Deep understanding of IPC, NFPA, and related plumbing standards, with awareness of UPC.
- Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, and BIM360.
- Experience with sustainable design, including rainwater harvesting, black/grey water systems, and electrification.
- Ability to analyze building codes in new or unfamiliar jurisdictions.
- Proven ability to manage schematic design through construction administration.
- Broad design knowledge working on a wide range of US and international projects.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in lab, healthcare, commercial office, or residential sectors.
- Membership in ASPE or ISPPE, or accreditation as a Certified Plumbing Designer or LEED AP.
Education
• 5+ years of plumbing and fire protection engineering experience • Relevant bachelor or master degree • Lab/healthcare, commercial office and residential project experience preferred • Ability to accept a high degree of responsibility in a team-based organization, combined with ability to work independently • Broad design knowledge, working on a wide range of US and international projects
