Description

You will own the administration, performance tuning, and high-availability operations of critical Postgres and Cassandra data systems.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Manage Postgres environments including EDB, PGD, and AWS RDS/Aurora.
• Design, monitor, and troubleshoot Cassandra clusters with a focus on schema and replication.
• Execute database upgrades and migrations while maintaining service availability.
• Develop automation scripts for database operations on Linux systems.
• Perform performance tuning and SQL diagnostics for large-scale databases.

Required Skills

• 12+ years experience with Postgres, including architecture, internals, replication, and clustering.
• Expertise in performance tuning and SQL diagnostics for large-scale databases.
• Proficiency with observability tools such as PEM, Splunk, and DynaTrace.
• Strong command of Linux and scripting languages, specifically Bash, KSH, and Perl.
• Experience with Cassandra cluster design, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of database internals and high-availability setups.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with EDB and PGD specific administration.
