Description

Lead the design and optimization of scalable, secure PostgreSQL database architectures for hybrid cloud environments. You will own the database strategy, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, high-performance PostgreSQL database architectures and schema designs.
• Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries, indexes, and database performance to resolve bottlenecks.
• Implement partitioning, sharding, and replication techniques to handle large-scale data sets.
• Manage PostgreSQL databases in cloud environments (AWS RDS, Aurora, Azure, GCP) for scaling and disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to automate deployment and mentor junior engineers.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in database architecture with deep expertise in PostgreSQL internals.
• Proficient in SQL, PL/pgSQL, and advanced database modeling.
• Experience with cloud-based database management tools including AWS RDS, Aurora, Azure, and GCP.
• Strong knowledge of high availability, clustering, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Proficiency with tools like pgAdmin, pgBouncer, and replication techniques.
• Familiarity with ETL processes and integrating PostgreSQL with data pipelines.
• Experience with MySQL is required.

Preferred Skills

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience implementing database access controls, encryption, and security audits.
