Description

You will manage and optimize large-scale PostgreSQL database infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Execute migrations from on-premises to cloud environments using backup/restore, export/import, load testing, and benchmarking.
• Act as the PostgreSQL Subject Matter Expert to drive migration tasks and technical decision-making.
• Monitor database infrastructure in real time to ensure stability and performance.
• Manage the full change control process, including creating, reviewing, and implementing change records.
• Identify and implement automation for manual database operations.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL Server DBA in an enterprise environment.
• Hands-on experience with on-premises to cloud migrations.
• Proficiency in backup processes and procedures.
• Experience with real-time monitoring and troubleshooting large database infrastructures.
• Ability to document standard operational procedures.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and engineers.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple incidents with competing priorities.
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL, or DB2.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Cloud service models (PaaS, SaaS, IaaS) in AWS or Azure.
• Hands-on experience with in-place database upgrades on VM and physical servers.
• PostgreSQL, MS SQL, or DB2 certifications.
