Description

Manage wholesale power supply, load management, and renewable resources. Liaise with power companies on interconnections, depreciation, and leased facility charges. Enforce Distributed Generation and Interconnection Standards by reviewing engineering specs and directing meter installations. Ensure electrical and environmental compliance with NESC, NFPA, EPA, NCDEQ, and NERC Reliability Standards. Provide engineering support for telemetry systems, diesel generators, and communication line installations. Coordinate outages and serve as the point of contact during major storm events with Transmission Providers. Manage municipal projects including distribution studies, expansion planning, and financial analyses for city council presentations. Participate in a 24/5 on-call rotation every 6 weeks to address system conditions and emergencies.

Required Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer, or Mechanical).
• 5+ years of experience in an electrical utility environment or equivalent.
• Deep knowledge of NESC and NFPA codes.
• Understanding of NERC Reliability Standards.
• Experience managing distributed generation and renewable resources.
• Ability to work independently in field locations with remote guidance.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder coordination.
