Description

Design and deliver scalable, high-reliability backend systems. Own the full lifecycle from design to deployment, solving complex engineering problems. Advocate for TDD, automated testing, and coding best practices while coaching team members.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, extensible software components.
• Drive components from initial design through hands-on development to delivery.
• Implement Test-Driven Development (TDD) and write maintainable code.
• Coach team members on coding standards, testing techniques, and development practices.
• Deploy containerized applications to cloud infrastructure and manage CI/CD pipelines.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python and related backend libraries.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or SQL Server databases.
• Experience building containerized applications and deploying to Microsoft Azure.
• Strong expertise in Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Proficiency with Linux platforms.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of gRPC.
• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related field with high mathematical content.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or Kotlin.
• Knowledge of NumPy, SciPy, and pandas.
• Background in Asset Management, Hedge Funds, or Investment Banking with understanding of financial instruments.
