Description

You will build and maintain high-volume, event-driven backend services using Python.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement event-driven architectures using message queues like Kafka, Pub/Sub, SQS/SNS, or Cloud Tasks.
• Develop performant services with strict guarantees for exactly-once processing and idempotency in distributed systems.
• Write and optimize complex raw SQL queries against PostgreSQL and integrate data layers using SQLAlchemy.
• Ensure system reliability by implementing fault-tolerance mechanisms across services.
• Write comprehensive unit and functional tests for all production code.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional Python development experience focused on high-volume web services.
• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL and SQLAlchemy, including writing optimized raw SQL.
• Experience with async Python patterns and event-driven architectures.
• Proven ability to implement idempotency and fault-tolerance in distributed systems.
• Proficiency with Git, GitHub/Jira, and Linux environments.
• Experience with ETL/ELT and Data Warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with GCP services such as Pub/Sub, BigQuery, and GKE.
• Knowledge of modern web technologies including JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills

• Expert-level knowledge of FastAPI and modern Python web frameworks.
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes/Cloud Run) and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with distributed task queues like Celery or Redis.
