Description

Design, develop, and maintain scalable asynchronous microservices and high-performance applications.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimize scalable applications using Python 3 and FastAPI.
• Implement asynchronous microservices and REST APIs with AsyncIO.
• Ensure software quality through unit testing, BDD, and SOLID principles.
• Guide development processes and mentor junior engineers.
• Maintain system health via monitoring, tracing, and OpenTelemetry.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of professional experience in Python.
• Extensive expertise with FastAPI and AsyncIO.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka (Confluent-Kafka-python or Kafka-python) and AVRO.
• Proficiency with AWS EKS and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with DocumentDB, MongoDB, and ElastiCache/Redis.
• Strong understanding of Design Patterns, Clean Code, and SOLID.
• Practical knowledge of unit testing and BDD frameworks.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry for tracing and monitoring.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to work from the Bethesda, MD HQ at least twice a week.
