Description

Lead the migration of an existing Node.js application to a stable Python architecture.

Responsibilities

• Rewrite the unstable Node.js codebase into Python to improve maintainability and reliability.
• Simplify the architecture by removing dependencies on Apache Kafka and autofs.
• Develop a simple front-end interface for administration tasks and resubmission of failed updates.
• Implement logging and troubleshooting mechanisms to enhance application stability.
• Establish dedicated Dev and Test environments to support ongoing development.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Python development.
• Ability to reverse engineer functionality from existing Node.js applications.
• Experience with Active Directory and LDAP.
• Proficiency with RESTful API integration.
• Experience designing solutions and refactoring applications to remove messaging system dependencies like Apache Kafka.
• Experience developing front-end interfaces using Python or other simple approaches.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Any Graduate degree.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Node.js development.
• Previous experience migrating or rewriting legacy applications.
• Experience with Docker.
