Description

Lead the architecture and development of the Bluecopper system for large-scale scientific data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee the Bluecopper system architecture to support scalable data processing.
• Write clean, efficient Python code and build APIs for TypeScript/JavaScript frontends and internal users.
• Mentor the development team, conduct code reviews, and enforce engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Business Analysts to define and ship features.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain the system in AWS, working closely with DevOps to optimize CI/CD pipelines.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Expertise in Python, including web frameworks like Pyramid and ORM tools such as SQLAlchemy.
• Strong proficiency with MySQL and experience designing distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in automated testing, including unit, integration, e2e, performance, and regression testing.
• Experience deploying applications in cloud-based environments, specifically AWS.
• Experience with process orchestration in high-performance computing environments.
• Fluent English communication skills and experience working in global, distributed Agile/Scrum teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Jenkins for build and deployment automation.
