Description

Design, build, and optimize backend services using Python, integrating with complex relational database systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend logic and RESTful APIs to support core business applications.
• Design, write, and performance-tune SQL queries for optimal database integration.
• Write and maintain comprehensive unit tests to ensure code quality.
• Collaborate within Agile teams using GIT and CI/CD pipelines for version control and deployment.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Deep expertise in Python and object-oriented programming.
• Proven experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Strong proficiency in relational databases: Sybase, DB2, Oracle, Postgres, MSSQL, MySQL, or MariaDB.
• Ability to perform SQL query optimization and performance tuning.
• Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Proficiency with GIT version control and CI/CD workflows.
• Experience working in Agile environments.

Preferred Skills

• Local to New York or New Jersey; ability to attend a second-round, face-to-face interview in New York, NY.
