Description

You will build and maintain scalable, distributed cloud-based back-end systems using Python and AWS.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Own the implementation of software components using test-driven development and sound engineering practices.
• Translate product requirements into well-designed web services and distributed systems.
• Participate in software design reviews and conduct peer code reviews to maintain code quality.
• Write unit, functional, and regression tests while contributing to CI/CD and automation processes.
• Develop secure, stable, and maintainable code for customer-facing products.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience in web and cloud-based application development.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Object-Oriented programming.
• Extensive experience developing RESTful web services.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, specifically serverless components like Lambda.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Proficiency with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and DynamoDB.
• Solid understanding of RDBMS and writing/debugging complex database queries.
• Experience with source code management using Git.
• Ability to work with scripting languages including PowerShell, Groovy, or Bash.

Preferred Skills

• Java programming experience.
• Experience with CI/CD tools including Docker, AWS DevOps, and Jenkins.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.
