Description

Own backend architecture and release pipelines for ecommerce and personalization systems.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs in Python or TypeScript.
• Drive architectural decisions focused on long-term scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Own code quality standards, gate code reviews, and mentor engineers through technical guidance.
• Collaborate with Product and Frontend teams to translate business goals into technical solutions.
• Lead performance optimization, production deployments, and incident resolution.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with Python or TypeScript.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Deep understanding of system design, architecture, and design patterns.
• Experience designing systems at scale with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Proficiency in frontend technologies: ReactJS, Redux, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong ownership mindset with proven ability to drive technical decisions independently.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with DynamoDB.
• Deep ecommerce domain knowledge, particularly in Cart, Checkout, and Payments.
• Familiarity with payment providers (Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay) and PCI compliance.
