Description

You will lead the development of Python services, including RESTful APIs and web services, while designing optimized database interactions and deploying on AWS.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and maintenance of Python services using Django or Flask to build robust RESTful APIs and web services.
• Design, optimize, and manage relational database interactions using ORMs, ensuring query performance and data reliability.
• Build, deploy, and monitor applications on AWS using core services, containers, and production logging practices.
• Implement automated testing and CI/CD workflows to maintain quality and reliability across the software lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain event streaming capabilities with Apache Kafka, focusing on producer/consumer design and operational health.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of software engineering experience delivering production-grade Python applications.
• Strong proficiency in Django or Flask for building and operating RESTful APIs.
• Experience with relational databases and ORMs (PostgreSQL/MySQL, Django ORM, or SQLAlchemy) including query optimization.
• Hands-on AWS deployment experience (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, API Gateway) and monitoring with CloudWatch.
• Discipline in testing and CI/CD using pytest or unittest.
• Operational experience with Apache Kafka, including retries, dead-letter queues, and consumer lag monitoring.

Preferred Skills

• Infrastructure-as-code experience with CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Familiarity with container orchestration using ECS or EKS.
