Description

You will build scalable data analysis platforms for high-throughput single-cell genomics, owning the full development lifecycle from API implementation to cloud deployment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain performant analysis workflows for genomic data stored in AWS cloud environments.
• Extend existing Python APIs and infrastructure to solve complex scientific software engineering challenges.
• Collaborate with local and offshore engineering teams to support development efforts within PST hours.
• Contribute to open-source software development and adhere to strict engineering best practices.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience developing Python tools for High Performance Computing and cloud solutions.
• Proficiency with Python, FastAPI, Celery, SQLAlchemy, Boto3, and Keycloak.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services: EKS, ECS, S3, SQS, SNS, ALB, EC2, RDS (Postgres), and ElastiCache Redis.
• Practical knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm for container orchestration and deployment.
• Experience with GitLab CI and deploying software in AWS cloud environments.
• Experience with performant file formats such as HDF5, Zarr, or TileDB.
• Strong adherence to software engineering best practices regarding usability, version control, testing, and abstraction.

Preferred Skills

• Background in scientific software engineering or genomics data analysis.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects in the scientific community.
