RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for mobile applications across Android and iOS platforms.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing of mobile applications.
• Develop and maintain mobile automation frameworks using Appium or similar mobile automation tools.
• Execute testing across real devices, emulators, and simulators, covering multiple operating system versions, screen sizes, and device configurations.
• Identify and validate mobile-specific issues, including UI/UX, device compatibility, network conditions, permissions, notifications, installation and upgrades, and application performance.
• Automate web and UI testing using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or similar frameworks, where applicable.
• Perform REST API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools to validate backend services supporting mobile applications.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing practices.
• Analyze test results, investigate failures, identify root causes, and work closely with developers to drive defect resolution.
• Create and maintain detailed test cases, automation scripts, test data, execution reports, and defect documentation.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to improving test automation frameworks, QA processes, test coverage, and overall product quality.
• Support performance and reliability testing of mobile applications and APIs, where required.
• Ensure testing activities comply with established enterprise QA standards and security requirements.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• 4–7 years of experience in software testing, with strong experience in mobile application testing and automation.
• Strong hands-on experience testing Android and iOS applications.
• Hands-on experience with Appium or another mobile automation framework.
• Experience with real-device testing, Android emulators, and iOS simulators.
• Strong understanding of mobile application testing methodologies and the Android/iOS ecosystem.
• Experience with UI automation tools such as Playwright or Selenium.
• Good experience with REST API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
• Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of test automation frameworks, Page Object Model, test data management, and reusable automation components.
• Experience with Git and version control practices.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
GOOD TO HAVE
• Experience with mobile automation frameworks such as Appium 2.x.
• Experience with BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, AWS Device Farm, or other cloud-based device testing platforms.
• Experience with mobile performance, accessibility, security, and compatibility testing.
• Knowledge of mobile-specific testing, including deep links, push notifications, permissions, biometrics, network switching, app installation and upgrades, and offline/online scenarios.
• Experience with k6 or similar performance-testing tools.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)-based test environments.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or Zephyr.
• Knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or similar technologies
