Description

You will build and evolve scalable backend systems using Ruby, Grape, and Sequel.

Responsibilities

• Develop existing backend systems in a scalable fashion.
• Document designs using flow charts, sequence diagrams, ERDs, GraphQL, or OpenAPI schemas.
• Introduce new processes and technologies to evolve infrastructure and architecture.
• Mentor junior developers through direct collaboration and code reviews.
• Partner with product and business teams to identify new feature opportunities.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience building complex, scalable backend systems.
• 3+ years of professional experience developing in Ruby.
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices, including Event Driven Architecture, CQRS, and Domain Driven Design.
• Experience building RESTful and GraphQL APIs at scale.
• Experience designing normalized (3NF) relational SQL databases.
• Experience writing functional tests, including unit, integration, and system tests.
• Proficiency with Node.js, TypeScript, or Deno.
• Knowledge of OOP, functional paradigms, and SOLID principles.
• Experience with React or other unidirectional data flow frameworks.
