Description

You will design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs using Ruby on Rails, owning technical decisions from architecture to production support.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable backend systems using Ruby on Rails, following best practices in design and architecture.
• Drive technical design decisions to ensure modular, maintainable, and high-performing codebases.
• Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and indexing strategies using PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Develop secure, scalable, and versioned RESTful APIs.
• Troubleshoot live production issues, manage deployments via CI/CD, and lead code reviews.

Required Skills

• Expert-level proficiency in Ruby and Ruby on Rails (6.x/7.x).
• Strong hands-on experience with MVC Architecture.
• Deep understanding of PostgreSQL and MySQL, including schema design and query optimization.
• Proven experience developing and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency in Git, code reviews, and release management.
• Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives.
• 5+ years of experience in backend development.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with testing frameworks like RSpec or Minitest to ensure high code coverage.
• Experience participating in on-call rotations and ensuring system stability.
