Description

You will develop and maintain enterprise-grade web applications within an academic medical environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain Ruby on Rails applications using MVC architecture and RESTful principles.
• Build responsive, accessible user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3 (Sass), and Vue.js.
• Optimize SQL queries and manage schema migrations for PostgreSQL and MySQL databases.
• Implement background processing with Sidekiq and caching via Redis.
• Conduct code reviews and write unit tests using RSpec or MiniTest.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of full-stack web development experience with Ruby on Rails (versions 5–7).
• Proficiency in Ruby, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 (Sass).
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with Vue.js or modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with testing frameworks including RSpec, MiniTest, and factory_bot.
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD workflows using GitLab CI or Jenkins.
• Working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Ability to implement authentication/authorization tools like Devise, Pundit, or CanCan.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in healthcare, academic, or public sector domains.
• Familiarity with REDCap, legacy .NET systems, and MS SQL Server.
• Experience working in HIPAA-regulated environments.
