Description

Design and maintain scalable backend systems using Ruby on Rails, owning architectural decisions and release pipelines.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable backend systems using Ruby on Rails, following best practices in design and architecture.
• Drive technical design decisions to ensure modular, maintainable, and high-performing codebases.
• Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and indexing strategies using PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Develop secure, scalable, and versioned RESTful APIs.
• Troubleshoot live production issues, participate in on-call rotations, and manage deployments via CI/CD.

Required Skills

• Expert-level proficiency in Ruby and Ruby on Rails (Rails 6.x / 7.x).
• Strong hands-on experience with MVC architecture.
• Deep understanding of PostgreSQL and MySQL, including query optimization.
• Proficiency in Git, code reviews, and release management.
• Experience implementing testing strategies (RSpec/Minitest) with high code coverage.
• 5+ years of experience managing production systems.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.

Preferred Skills

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives.
• Experience mentoring team members and leading code reviews.
