  ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced SAP UI5 Developer with strong expertise in CSS, JavaScript, and SAP Portal technologies. The role involves developing user-centric applications integrating S/4HANA with SAP NetWeaver Portal (Java 7.5) and supporting the transition to SAP BTP (UI5, SAP Build Work Zone, BTP Integration Suite, BTP Build). This position requires excellent UI engineering skills, proven deployment experience, and solid knowledge of security for public-facing UI5 applications.

 TECHNOLOGY LANDSCAPE & TOOLING

Backend: SAP S/4HANA
Frontend: SAP UI5 built in NWDS or BAS, deployed via NWDS to SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.5 (Java stack)
Integration: Strong understanding of OData and microservices; secure API consumption via BTP Destinations/Cloud Connector; collaboration with integration teams
 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, build, and optimize SAP UI5 applications with focus on UX, performance, and accessibility
Develop custom themes, layouts, and interactions using CSS/JavaScript aligned with branding/regulatory standards
Manage SAP Portal content (sites/pages/iViews) ensuring seamless integration and runtime performance
Integrate OData and microservices with S/4HANA and external systems; collaborate with BTP Integration Suite teams
Deliver end-to-end: development, unit testing, deployment, documentation, and support
Ensure application security for internet-facing apps (CSRF/XSRF, input validation, secure headers, CSP, session/config management, OWASP practices)
Produce clear technical documentation and ensure compliance with data privacy/retention standards
 REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Core Requirements

Experience: 7–12 years of SAP delivery, with at least three SAP implementations
UI Engineering: Strong SAP UI5, advanced CSS/JavaScript, and responsive design
Portal: Proven development and deployment experience on SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.5 (Java) using NWDS
BTP Readiness: Hands-on with SAP BTP — SAP Build Work Zone and BTP Integration Suite; ability to migrate UI5 workloads to BTP
Integration: Solid knowledge of OData and microservices; secure API consumption via BTP Destinations/Cloud Connector
Security Expertise

Experience applying OWASP ASVS practices for NetWeaver Portal and BTP
SAML2 / OAuth2 / XSUAA, CSRF/XSRF, CSP, secure headers, secure cookies
Session handling, secrets management, and dependency management for production workloads
Soft Skills & Education

Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder collaboration
Clear technical documentation and knowledge transfer ability
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Experience with SAP Build (Apps/Process Automation) for low-code extensions
Theming expertise (SAP Theme Designer) and WCAG/accessibility compliance
SSO/Security on Portal and BTP (SAML2, JWT/XSUAA concepts), reverse proxy/WAF/CDN integration
CI/CD familiarity — Git, automated transport/deployment for Portal/BTP
Certifications: SAP UI5/Fiori, SAP BTP Integration Suite, SAP Certified Development Associate
