Description

You will manage and administer Snowflake environments across DEV, QA, UAT, and PROD while maintaining traditional SQL databases including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and DB2.

Responsibilities

• Configure and manage Snowflake Warehouses, Databases, Schemas, Roles, Resource Monitors, Storage Integrations, Snowpipes, Streams, Tasks, and Time Travel policies.
• Monitor and optimize compute usage, credits, warehouse performance, and cost allocation across all environments.
• Optimize Snowflake queries using micro-partition pruning, clustering, warehouse scaling, and caching; troubleshoot slow queries using Query Profile and Account Usage views.
• Implement RBAC, dynamic data masking, row-level security, and column-level protection to ensure compliance with SOX, PCI, FFIEC, and bank security standards.
• Support ETL/ELT pipelines by troubleshooting ingestion failures and transformation issues in collaboration with data engineering teams.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in database administration and Snowflake management.
• Expertise in Snowflake architecture, including multi-cluster warehouses, workload segmentation, and cost optimization.
• Strong proficiency in traditional SQL databases: Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or DB2.
• Experience with performance tuning, indexing strategy, query optimization, and schema management.
• Knowledge of data integration tools including Informatica, DBT, Python, Kafka, and Azure Data Factory.
• Ability to manage patching, upgrades, backups, recovery, and high availability for on-prem and cloud systems.
• Understanding of data governance, audit logs, and security compliance requirements.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting migrations from on-prem databases to Snowflake.
• Participation in on-call rotations for critical systems.
