Description

Design, develop, and maintain complex Snowflake data warehouses, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance optimization across multi-cloud environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain scalable data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data quality controls within Snowflake.
  • Develop Python scripts to automate data processing, ingestion, transformation, and loading tasks.
  • Optimize Snowflake performance by leveraging virtual warehouses, micro-partitioning, and complex SQL query tuning.
  • Implement robust data security measures, including RBAC, data masking, encryption, and access controls.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, and visualizations using tools like Tableau.

Required Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in Snowflake data warehouse development, data engineering, or related fields.
  • Expert proficiency in SQL, including Snowflake’s dialect and complex query optimization.
  • Deep understanding of Snowflake architecture: virtual warehouses, storage/compute separation, cloning, time travel, and data sharing.
  • Strong experience with Python for data automation and processing.
  • Proficiency in ETL/ELT processes and data integration from internal and external sources.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and services such as S3, Glue, or DMS.
  • Ability to integrate Snowflake with third-party tools like Tableau, Salesforce, and APIs.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks, security standards, and compliance requirements.

Preferred Skills

  • SnowPro Advanced Architect or SnowPro Data Engineering certification.
  • Experience with CI/CD practices, GitHub, JIRA, and project management tools.
  • Background in affordable housing or public benefit program data projects.
