Description

Design and document end-to-end network architecture for next-generation In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate non-functional requirements, including architectural risks and selection rationale.
• Develop architectural design patterns and frameworks for development teams.
• Review existing networking designs to identify and implement improvements.
• Mentor software engineers and architects as a technical leader.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of networking-related programming in Linux systems.
• 5+ years of experience with wireless, mobile, and satellite communication systems.
• 3+ years of architecture experience in complex embedded systems.
• Expertise in layer 2-7 networking design, testing, operation, and troubleshooting.
• Extensive knowledge of Linux networking, routing, and protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, LAN, WAN, VLANs, IPv4/IPv6, TCP/UDP).
• Experience with bare-metal Kubernetes networking (CNI, Overlay Networks, Cilium, Flannel, Service Meshes).
• Proficiency with networking-focused operating systems (Cumulus Linux, VyOS, openWRT, DD-WRT).
• Experience with Cloud-provider network design (AWS or Azure).

Preferred Skills

• Experience building web-scale, container-based solutions using Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with AWS Cloud Computing.
