Key Responsibilities
Lead the migration of legacy Java/J2EE applications from on-premises environments to AWS.
Assess existing applications and recommend modernization strategies, including rehosting, replatforming, refactoring, or rearchitecting.
Design, develop, and implement scalable, cloud-native solutions using Java and AWS technologies.
Modernize monolithic applications by decomposing them into modular or microservices-based architectures.
Build reusable migration frameworks, tools, and reference implementations to support cloud transformation initiatives.
Integrate applications with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, RDS, API Gateway, and Lambda.
Containerize applications using Docker and deploy solutions using Kubernetes-based platforms.
Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
Support CI/CD automation and DevOps processes to improve deployment efficiency and reliability.
Collaborate with architects, technical leads, and Agile teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with project objectives.
Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, troubleshooting, and performance optimization efforts.
Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, maintainable, and cost-efficient.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
8+ years of software development experience with Java/J2EE technologies.
5+ years of hands-on experience migrating applications from on-premises environments to AWS.
Strong programming experience with Java and frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and related technologies.
Experience designing and implementing microservices architectures and cloud-native applications.
Strong understanding of AWS services, cloud architecture principles, and application modernization strategies.
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes platforms.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
Experience with database migration, optimization, and integration across enterprise environments.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in Agile development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Developer.
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise cloud transformation projects.
Familiarity with serverless architectures and event-driven application design.
Experience implementing high-availability, disaster recovery, and cloud optimization strategies.
Knowledge of cloud security best practices and governance standards
