Description

You will own the development, scaling, and maintenance of high-traffic production systems at Airbnb.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement well-structured APIs and efficient algorithms for high-volume data pipelines.
• Scale and maintain production systems to ensure reliability and performance.
• Evaluate technical approaches, assess tradeoffs, and solve complex engineering problems.
• Scope projects and manage deliverables with clear verbal and written communication to stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop other engineers to improve team capability.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of industry experience with a BS in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience), or 2+ years with a PhD.
• Proficiency in at least one of: C/C++, Java, C#, Python/Django, or Ruby/Ruby on Rails.
• Proven experience scaling and maintaining high-traffic production systems.
• Strong ability to evaluate technical tradeoffs and solve problems.
• Clear communication skills for engaging with stakeholders.
• Strong project scoping and project management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience mentoring and developing other engineers.
