Description

You will own the development and maintenance of embedded Linux-based services, microservices, and system components.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded Linux services, microservices, and system components using Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.
• Implement and maintain REST APIs consumed by local microservices, UI, and Azure cloud services.
• Integrate with firmware teams to consume and define hardware-level interfaces such as RFID, GPIO, networking, and drivers.
• Enhance device telemetry, logging, diagnostics, and service observability for Field Service and QA support.
• Participate in design discussions, evaluate tooling choices, and mentor junior engineers.

Required Skills

• 8+ years in Software Engineering, with 3+ years as a Senior Engineer.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer programming or equivalent, or demonstrable primary job experience in programming.
• Strong Linux experience, including system services, networking, permissions, and shell tools.
• Experience developing microservices, service orchestration, REST APIs, and cloud integration.
• Proficiency in Python or demonstrable ability to learn rapidly.
• Experience in embedded software engineering.
• Familiarity with systemd, service management, and service orchestration.
• Proficiency with Git or equivalent version control.
• Experience with unit, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
