Description

You will develop and maintain video processing software applications, protocols, user interfaces, and device drivers for embedded audio and video streaming systems on Qualcomm, HiSilicon, Ambarella, or Texas Instruments processors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain video-centric applications including encoders, decoders, transcoders, and DVRs.
• Bring up new hardware platforms and debug software across boot loader, kernel, drivers, and application layers.
• Design and maintain multithreaded software using queues, semaphores, and task prioritization.
• Provide occasional customer support and handle confidential customer records with discretion.
• Develop product demonstrations and handle special projects as assigned.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in embedded Linux application and kernel development.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Lua, Python, and shell scripting.
• Experience with build systems including Makefile, autoconf/automake, git, bitbake, OpenEmbedded, and CMake.
• Knowledge of multimedia frameworks such as Gstreamer, OpenMAX, DVSDK, or DVR-RDK.
• Understanding of video/audio processing concepts: A/V sync, timing, timestamps, buffering, and codecs (H.264, HEVC, AAC).
• Familiarity with Linux media mechanisms like frame buffer and V4L2.
• Ability to read electronic schematics and handle fragile hardware prototypes.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field.

Preferred Skills

• Significant experience with video SoC processors from Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Ambarella, or HiSilicon.
• Deep knowledge of streaming protocols (RTP/RTSP, RTMP, SRT, ONVIF) and formats (MPEG-2 TS, MP4, AVI).
• Experience with hardware interfaces including I2C, SPI, UART, USB, PCIe, MIPI CSI-2, and SDI.
