Description

Design and implement cloud-native distributed systems for trading, P&L, risk, and market data workflows.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable, fault-tolerant backend services and APIs using Python and modern AWS tooling.
• Translate complex trading, pricing, and risk requirements into technical designs and system components.
• Partner with architects and product managers to align system capabilities with business needs.
• Drive best practices for testing, observability, security, and operational excellence.

Required Skills

• 10+ years architecting enterprise-grade distributed systems.
• Expert-level Python proficiency, including asynchronous programming and microservices.
• Extensive AWS experience: EKS/ECS, Lambda, SQS/SNS, API Gateway, IAM, cloud networking.
• Deep knowledge of monitoring, logging, and operational excellence.
• Domain experience in commodities/energy trading, financial markets, or risk systems.
• Experience with Front Office trading, Risk & P&L systems, or Trade capture platforms.
• Proven track record building high-performance, real-time systems in mission-critical environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with data models, service boundaries, and event stream integration patterns.
