Description

Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, maintain, and support COBOL-based mainframe applications
Work extensively with VSAM files and legacy data processing systems
Analyze existing programs and implement enhancements/fixes
Support batch processing, data distribution, and system integrations
Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing business operations
Participate in modernization and performance optimization initiatives
Ensure system reliability, scalability, and documentation standards
Required Skills:
Strong hands-on experience with COBOL programming
Deep understanding of VSAM datasets and file structures
Experience working in mainframe environments (z/OS preferred)
Knowledge of JCL, CICS, DB2, and batch processing
Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced enterprise environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in enterprise data distribution or data processing systems
Exposure to modernization/migration projects
Prior experience supporting large-scale legacy platforms
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Experience:
8+ years of relevant experience preferred
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
