Description

You will design, develop, and maintain COBOL-based mainframe applications, ensuring system reliability and scalability.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support COBOL applications using VSAM files and legacy data processing systems.
• Analyze existing programs to implement enhancements, fixes, and performance optimizations.
• Support batch processing, data distribution, and system integrations.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain documentation and support business operations.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL programming.
• Deep understanding of VSAM datasets and file structures.
• Experience working in mainframe environments (z/OS preferred).
• Knowledge of JCL, CICS, DB2, and batch processing.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in enterprise data distribution or data processing systems.
• Exposure to modernization or migration projects.
• Experience supporting large-scale legacy platforms.
