Description

You will develop control algorithms for robotic surgical instruments running on real-time embedded platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design feedback control algorithms in MATLAB/Simulink using classical PID control laws.
• Integrate and test new controller designs on hardware ranging from prototypes to released products.
• Define and review software requirements, architecture, and design documentation.
• Partner with systems engineering and validation groups to participate in design reviews and improve verification methods.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of relevant working experience, or 5 years with an advanced degree.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink.
• Experience designing and implementing position, velocity, and torque feedback controllers.
• Familiarity with multi-body kinematics and dynamics.
• Knowledge of discrete signal processing methods and algorithms.
• Experience with reduced order modeling of mechatronic systems.
• Knowledge of techniques for real-time estimation of uncertain parameters.
• Experience implementing advanced control algorithms, such as optimization-based control methods.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred Skills

• C++ coding for prototype-level development.
• Experience with real-time software on microprocessor-based systems in a Linux environment.
• Hands-on experience with medical device development and regulatory processes.
