Use AI-assisted and agentic development tools, including Codex or equivalent technologies, to accelerate software development and problem solving.
Work directly with internal users to understand business challenges, identify opportunities, prototype solutions, gather feedback, and rapidly iterate.
Build web applications, dashboards, reporting tools, workflow solutions, data visualizations, and other digital applications.
Develop solutions that leverage existing enterprise data to improve processes, visibility, productivity, and decision-making.
Work with multiple programming languages, frameworks, and technologies based on the needs of each solution.
Help identify opportunities to automate manual processes and reduce reliance on third-party SaaS applications.
Work with databases and enterprise data to create new applications, processes, and business capabilities.
Provide technical input on application architecture and determine the appropriate technology and development approach for each solution.
Partner with IT, Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and other business stakeholders.
Evaluate emerging technologies, particularly AI and agentic development capabilities, and identify practical applications for the business.
Establish appropriate software development, documentation, source control, testing, security, and support practices without unnecessarily slowing innovation.
Help manage technical debt and ensure internally developed applications remain maintainable and supportable.
Lead and mentor two direct reports, including coaching, performance management, career development, and promotion planning.
Dedicate time to ongoing research, experimentation, and learning to remain current with emerging AI and software development technologies.
Help quantify the business impact of solutions, including improvements in efficiency, speed, productivity, availability, cost savings, and other measurable outcomes.
Manage multiple projects and priorities in a highly iterative environment where requirements can change quickly.
Must-Haves
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
5+ years of professional software development experience.
Strong hands-on software development experience with multiple programming languages, platforms, or frameworks.
Strong experience with one or more of the following: C#/.NET, Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or similar technologies.
Hands-on experience using AI-assisted or agentic coding/development tools, (they use OpenAI Codex)
Strong understanding of database architecture, SQL, and enterprise data.
Experience developing applications that consume, transform, or integrate data from existing enterprise systems.
Experience with APIs and software/system integrations.
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and select the appropriate technology for a given business problem.
Experience leading or managing software developers (they will manage 2 engineers)
Ability to remain hands-on with development while providing technical leadership.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work directly with business users and translate operational challenges into practical technology solutions.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with evolving requirements and priorities.
