Description

You will design and deliver secure, scalable backend services using Java and modern development practices.

Responsibilities

• Write secure code in Java and implement standard branching or trunk-based development workflows.
• Apply TDD and BDD methodologies to maintain a healthy testing pyramid, including unit, contract, and integration tests.
• Perform deep debugging and troubleshooting by analyzing core, heap, and thread dumps to resolve coding errors.
• Implement API standards and cataloging to drive service adoption and commercialization.
• Utilize CI/CD concepts to support automation, pipelines, virtualization, and containerization.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java.
• Experience with Python, Ruby, Bash, Perl, or Groovy for building automation tasks.
• Deep understanding of design patterns including Factory, Adapter, Singleton, Composite, Observer, Strategy, and Inversion of Control.
• Expertise in debugging and troubleshooting application performance.
• Practical knowledge of DevOps, Scrum, Kanban, and Continuous Delivery.
• Experience with Gitflow and peer review practices.
• Ability to work onsite in St. Louis, MO.

Preferred Skills

• Security fundamentals including SSH, SFTP, and exposure to reactive systems and microservices.
• Knowledge of secure coding standards such as OWASP, CWE, or SEI CERT.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and cloud-first development.
