Description

You will own kernel development and technical leadership for embedded systems.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Track Linux Kernel developments and identify relevant features for product needs.
• Develop and maintain EOS Kernel features and tests using C, C++, and Python.
• Build automated tests and test infrastructure to validate kernel features.
• Work with hardware engineers and vendors to qualify new Kernel-dependent hardware components.
• Mentor new and junior engineers in the software development environment.

Required Skills

• Expert knowledge and extensive experience programming in C.
• Significant hands-on experience troubleshooting, fixing bugs, and developing features in the Linux kernel.
• Familiarity with Linux kernel architecture, design, and implementation.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, and Linux.
• Understanding of IP networking architecture, design, and principles.
• Familiarity with the upstream Linux community’s patching process.
• Applied understanding of modern software engineering principles and practices.
• Strong software design, implementation, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with x86 and ARM CPU architectures.
