Description

You will own the quality assurance lifecycle for large-scale data workflows and BI reporting solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Validate Power BI dashboards, reports, data models, and DAX calculations, including RLS and dataset refresh schedules.
  • Validate Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipeline executions, data flows, and perform ETL/ELT validation between sources (SQL, Data Lake, Synapse).
  • Define and build test data strategies, creating data-seeding scripts to populate test environments.
  • Build SQL-based validation scripts and automation frameworks for ETL/ADF testing.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers and Developers during sprint planning and definition-of-done creation.

Required Skills

  • 7+ years of QA experience with a strong data and BI testing background.
  • Expertise in Power BI Testing, including DAX and dataset validation.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) for pipeline and data flow validation.
  • Proficiency in ETL/ELT testing across SQL, Data Lake, and Synapse environments.
  • Strong SQL querying skills for data validation, joins, and reconciliation.
  • Experience with Data Seeding using SQL scripts or ADF pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Git for CI/CD processes.
  • Ability to automate data comparisons using Python or PowerShell.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, such as star schema.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Power BI Premium, XMLA endpoints, and Tabular Editor.
  • Experience in PySpark/Databricks for high-volume data validation.
