Description

You will design and architect scalable distributed systems and large-scale data infrastructures to support ad hoc and automated product-level analytics.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Ingest, transform, engineer, and visualize data to support business analytics solutions.
• Architect distributed systems using open-source tools and patterns such as Event Driven, SOA, microservices, or Lambda.
• Apply object-oriented design, coding, and testing patterns to engineer software platforms.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to resolve complex technical problems.
• Execute development using Waterfall and Agile methodologies within Unix/Linux or .NET environments.

Required Skills

• Minimum 4 years of big data experience or a PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java.
• Experience with large-scale big data frameworks including MapReduce, Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Impala, or Storm.
• Strong understanding of cloud and distributed systems principles such as load balancing, networking, scaling, and in-memory vs. disk storage.
• Experience with source code management systems including GIT and SVN.
• Knowledge of programming methodologies including version control, testing, and QA.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Ability to travel up to 80% of the time.

Preferred Skills

• Two or more years of experience in professional services.
• Full-stack development capability.
