Description

You will own the administration and maintenance of the SQL Server platform across enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Upgrade legacy SQL Server environments to modern versions and configure new instances on Windows platforms.
• Execute database migrations using methods like backup/restore, log shipping, and data export/import.
• Manage steady-state operations, including backups, SQL Agent jobs, and system health monitoring.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and review error logs for the SQL Server platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise migration initiatives.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in SQL Server platform administration.
• Expertise in SQL Server installation, configuration, and DBA operations.
• Strong proficiency in T SQL for query troubleshooting and indexing strategies.
• Experience with database migration strategies between servers.
• Familiarity with applications dependent on SQL Server, including SAP and BusinessObjects.
• Working knowledge of Azure infrastructure fundamentals.
• Understanding of cross-platform dependencies with Oracle environments.
• Experience with PowerShell or similar tools for scripting/automation.
